Researching AI governance and the future of criminal justice
I am a doctoral researcher at the University of Reading School of Law. Friends often call me Jics; you may too. I work on justice innovation, AI governance, and legal technology that is meant to solve real problems in criminal process.
The doctorate asks whether judges can lawfully use AI to ease high pre-trial detention, and what judicial behaviour would make that fair. I practise in justice innovation and technology law, data protection and privacy, criminal law and justice, and public policy. I currently teach as an Associate Lecturer in the School of Law, and I lead Thrive LegalSpace.

Algorithmic-assisted justice in Nigeria: statutory compatibility and judicial behaviour in AI-augmented pre-trial bail.
